History of the creation of bouquets | As before, bouquets were created

The very word "bouquet" of French origin means "a scaffold, a grove". We are sure that each of you immediately presents a composition of fresh and harmoniously combining flowers and plants.

Let's try to understand how the science of drawing up bouquets has long appeared. Historians argue that the tradition of decorating their homes with compositions of fresh plants and flowers arose 6,000 years ago in Mesopotamia. There were not only classic bouquets, but also wreaths, garlands that adorn the facades of palaces and temples. A typical form of bouquet at this time was the so-called "torch", i.e. tiered flowers that were framed by leaves of papyrus. Such bouquets used poppies, roses, lilies, chrysanthemums, olive leaves and celery, and many other flowers and plants known to us to this day.

No doubt, flowers played a significant role in the life of our ancestors, because they decorated the churches and sacrificial altars, brought to the gods and rulers. The most famous goddess of flowers is the Roman Flora. In her honor, mass celebrations were held, arms of flowers, wreaths, garlands and all sorts of compositions from fresh flowers and plants were brought to her altar. Soon the flowers became original decorations not only of dwellings, but also of the person himself: from them bracelets on a hand, a neck, wreaths on a head wove. This tradition has been preserved by some peoples to this day. Flower beads were awarded to winners of sports competitions and soldiers who returned with a victory, as well as happy newlyweds.

The first florists appeared in Greece. Together with this, massive trade in bouquets, wreaths and garlands begins on the squares and it is then that a clear distinction appears between male and female bouquets. The first were mostly collected from greenery, while the latter looked more tender and colorful due to the variety of flowers and plants.

In ancient Egypt, the pharaohs demanded that in their every voyage there would be fresh flowers. Despite the fact that then the bouquets were not put into the water and were considered only short-lived works of art, the meaning of flowers in the life of man was already clearly traced.

In the Middle Ages, there is a certain decline in the world of flowers. Nevertheless, it is in this historical era that the church recognizes the right to religious symbols for flowers. Thus, humanity received the symbol of the Virgin Mary - a white rose and Christ - red.

The era of the Renaissance became the key in the history of the creation of bouquets. It was at the moment when the church began to less and less influence the daily life of people, flowers became commonplace for ordinary citizens. There was a birth of a bouquet in that kind in which we know it and we love for today.

The further development of bouquets quickly went up. Began to appear professionals who know the meaning in the meaning of each species, shade and even the shape of the flower. Bouquets came into vogue as small, regular shapes and light compositions. For convenience, the handle of the bouquets was made from a lace cuff or paper.

Over time, the bouquets only acquired new and new forms, were enriched with new exotic and amazing flowers and plants, the fashion for packaging and size, the color of flowers changed, but nevertheless, it is with complete certainty that the science of bouquet creation developed and evolved this day. The main and unchanging is that people are not indifferent to the beautiful, they know how to appreciate and embellish what nature has awarded us. Man has learned to express his feelings, emotions and attitude with the help of bouquets, without using words, to give smiles and happiness, to surprise and please others. And who knows, perhaps, it is thanks to such beautiful creations as flowers that this world can still be proud of something beautiful, tender and sensual.
